Games have appeared in the real world media quite a bit the last few
days. Most recently a number of developers have hit back at the UK
Change 4 Life campaign that shows a poster of a young boy holding a PS3
controller with the headline 'Risk an early death, do nothing'. Sega in
particular are unleashing the lawyers on the campaigns ass. Fingers
crossed for common sense prevailing. Across the pond in the US an anti
drugs campaign is targeing teens who play World of Warcraft, among
other games, highlighting that smoking pot will make them, well, bad at
raids. Yes the ad campaign is as stupid as it sounds and the several
million dollars it cost has been well spent, of course kids who PC game
are a high risk group for drug use. Read about drugs and gaming here and read Sega's mad on over another brainless government health campaign here. |
