Infinity Ward ended Wednesday night's Game Developers Conference Awards with a teaser that will have fans of online multiplayer drooling like St Bernards over their keyboards.

The first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2  trailer features absolutely zero gameplay but is choc-a-block full of enough hints and clues to make JJ Abrams tilt his thick-framed glasses and smile.

The whole thing starts out as nothing more than a green audio wave length. It appears as if you're following the path of someone walking through an office building and getting into an elevator of Matrix-style silhouettes before gunshots and screams echo through your speakers. The teaser closes out with the release date of 11th October... no wait... 10th November (Damn Americans and their funny date formatting!) but not before hinting at a few other surprises.
