If you're a regular listener to the podcasts, you would understand that a lot of people do not share my sense of humour. Aaron quite often nervously chastises me if I ever make a joke against a developer, and it appears everyone's favourite 'videogame news' site, N4G, share Aaron's viewpoint.
Let me make it perfectly clear that I think N4G is a fantastic site - in theory only. Anonymous moderators and contributors have turned it into a bit of a joke, but the site is still one of the most popular videogame sites on the internet.
So as a joke, I changed the header of the site to reflect that of said "videogame news" site that's been high-jacked by rampaging fanboys (fanboys that would turn a story about computer mice into a PS3 vs Xbox 360 battle) I received the following email in my inbox.
To the Site Administrator, It has come to our attention that your website liberally borrows various designs and formats from our own. We can only assume that you are deliberately attempting to subvert people from our own site and snare unsuspecting internet users and visitors to our site. We ask that you immediately modify your logo to an alternative style that does not blatantly copy our own or we will be forced to take legal action. At this stage we would prefer to avoid that course but if immediate changes are not made we will not hesitate to do so. In short, we are not amused by your tawdry use of our brand. Regards Phil McCracken N4G Marketing Manager
Happy April Fools.
What? You didn't think we'd actually get it done on time, did you? Haven't you been paying attention. |
