Shadow of the Colossus to be Ruined

I mention Shadow of the Colossus a lot. I think it's probably right up there as one of the greatest games ever made and a strong bullet point in the games as art debate. When I think of Colossus I think of a beautiful, ethereal game, subtle yet exciting, perhaps an original interpretation of the underlying themes of the fairy tale.

Then it was announced that a Hollywood movie was on the way and a large part of my soul shriveled up into black tar and dripped off.

It's not that bad you say? It might be okay you think? Mayhaps my fears are unfounded?

The script for this film is to be written by one Justin Marks who also wrote Street Figher: The Legend of Chun Li. A film I can't even bring myself to watch, even ironically. Don't get me wrong, I love bad films. Even today I number Dolph Lundgren as one of my favourite actors of all time. But Shadow of the Colossus was an unforgettable game. One best left as just that. No movie could do the experience of playing it justice.

If you haven't played the game, hunt down a copy and tell me I'm wrong.
