Ah Silent Hill. If I wasn't terrified of small towns all ready after staying at B&B run by satanists while on a work trip (loooong story), you'd ensure that particularly scary bee was in my bonnet. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories takes the game back a generation with this version appearing on the PS2, PSP and the Wii.

Hey, maybe if its on the PSP and Mick can play it out doors surrounded by kittens then he could, you know, actually play it? Nah probably not. Read on for the juicy details.

Shattered Memories is actually a 'reimagining' of the original Silent Hill game. Actions and events will play out differently and characters in them game will move around and offer varied responses depending on what times you talk to them, mixing up the originals relatively linear plot. While different paths can be taken from the original it's still Harry searching for his daughter Cheryl.

Most exciting is the face the Wiimote will play the role of torch and cell phone as you search for clues. Its an idea so staggeringly simple and genius, using the Wiimote as a torch in a horror game, its a wonder no one has done it all ready. The phone can be used as a map, GPS device and to photograph clues. Another new element is 'Psyche Profiling', depending on how you play the game small visual elements will be altered to add to the oppressing atmosphere and make the play experience unique to the player

Shattered Memories will also feature an all-new soundtrack by series creator Akira Yamaoka. If you've played a Silent Hill game before you know just how important the sound track is to the overall experience. It's the soundtrack to many peoples nightmares.

Also Harry now wears spectacles that make him look like a serial killer. But that's just my opinion.
