So Mathew Perry plays it, Bethesda plan on turning it into a TV show and/or movie and the next downloadable episode should be appearing in the next few weeks. Fallout is hot stuff.

Now the next Fallout game has been quietly announced!

At a Bethesda press conference in London the company announced that Fallout New Vegas was in the works. All together now SQUEEEE!

But there are some things you should know. Firstly the game is coming for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 and will release next year some time.

Second, it’s now being made by Bethesda but Obsidian Entertainment who have been responsible for a lot of hardcore RPG’s such as tar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords and Neverwinter Nights 2. They were also working on an Aliens RPG for Sega which unfortunately got canned. Does this mean they are developing a new Fallout game using Bethesda’s glorious game engine? We don’t know, but it seems likely if Bethesda are optioning out the game to someone else they’re looking at a different experience. It was also clearly stated that Fallout New Vegas will not be a sequel to Fallout 3.

It was also intriguingly stated that this game would have no bearing on what Todd Howard (Bethesda big wig and exec producer of Fallout 3) were working on. Ah ha! So they are working something. A Fallout sequel we hope.

But that’s it, that’s all information to go on so far. There’s a new Fallout game coming. Relax in your Sumo bean bag and raise a dirty glass of cola to the gaming gods that your prayers have been answered.
