In an announcement that will make Aaron very happy, and after us discussing it on this week's podcast, it has finally been announced. Of course I'm talking about Marvel Vs Capcom 2.

The game is in development for the PS3 and 360 by Foundation 9 and is based on the Sega Dreamcast version of the game. It will be available via digital download for 1200 Microsoft points (around $20 on the PSN).

The 56 fighters are back in all their glory with 3 on 3 Tag-team fights matches and four button control configuration. An optional visual filter is said to smooth out the visuals for HD. Unfortunately the game play will still only exist within the 4:3 ratio with the viewing area expanded to 16:9.

Online is supported with similar features to Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, such as ranked matches and Quarter matches which allows 4 people to watch a match and chat at the same time.

A demo has been confirmed for the PSN for North America on the 30th of April, so we shouldn't be too far behind on that. A XBLA Demo hasn't been confirmed at this point.
