I get really excited when I hear an announcement that's so big, so interesting and so out there that I have to check my calendar to make sure it's not April 1st. Today, via a Gametrailers World Exclusive, Activision got me that excited. Readers, meet the skateboard peripheral that you will be using on Tony Hawk Ride.

We don't know a whole lot about the game or the gadget aside from the image that you keep glancing back to in between my sentences. Quit it and pay attention. We know that the game will be released for the Xbox 360, the Playstation 3 and the Wii and we know that it will feature at this year's E3. We also know that some of the bigger media outlets may have already seen and or played the game with Joystiq hinting the fact that they could probably so more if it weren't for the ambargo that they were under. If they keep being smug like that, they will be under my car.

Activisions liability insurance has just hit the roof and now their execs can stand around the punchbowl with the Nintendo execs empathising with each other about broken bones and cracked plasma screens.

The trailer below from Gametrailers is also quite hilarious with titles that go through how and why skating is awesome. Things like hanging out with friends etc. At the end it all but says, "But now there's a way where you never have to leave your house again!"
