A game I've waited, some what impatiently, for news on has released a rather exciting trailer featuring CGI and gameplay. Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine, which is under development with the fine folks over at Relic who did such a superb job with the Dawn of War RTS series based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Space Marine isn't an RTS, its all about getting up close and personal with your enemies.

As you can see in the trailer you control one of the soldiers known as the Ultramarines in this third person action game. Armed with heavy bolter and chain sword its up to you to bring the vengeance of the emporer to the various alien races who menace mankind. So far the Orcs are confirmed, as are seen in the trailer below, and rumour has it the Tyranids (think HR Geiger Alien on crack) will be making an appearance later in the game.

The trailer, you may also note, has four marines taking part together in the combat. Does this mean four player coop online with your pals? I hope so. I like making wild unsubstaniated claims, makes me feel like a big man and not a faux journalist, so I'm making one now, if this game comes good it could be more Gears of War than Gears of War.
