This image gives me goosebumps
Oh baby, oh yeah, Rebellion know what you like. You like Aliens, you like Predators and you certainly like Colonial Marines toting M41A Pulse Rifles. Oh my, yes you do.
Aliens Versus Predator developer Rebellion have graced us with some slick screenshots of their upcoming game. It's impossible to look at these and not get excited to an unhealthy degree.

Just looking at this, I can hear that clicking snarl noise in my head
And no, before the naysayers get in on the act, these are images of gameplay. Rumours out of E3 are that Aliens Versus Predator is pretty, very pretty. The game runs on the custom built Asura Engine which focuses on providing realistic light and shadow effects to give the game plenty of creepy atmosphere.
On top of just how sweet it looks there are a few other things to get excited about. First, each race will have their own single player campaign. Second, the Predators will be able to climb, something they couldn't do in the previous Rebellion AvP games for PC, and drop on enemies in ambush style attacks, just like in the movies. Thirdly there will be multiplayer, naturally, and it will feature a species war mode that sees you pick a species and battling it out with the rest of your kind against the other two species.

Game over man, game over
Fans of the old games should have more than enough faith in Rebellion to deliver a top notch experience. They did a terrific job of providing a pitch perfect experience in their previous games. I remember my excitement when the colonial marines sent a squad of synthetic troopers after my Predator. They didn't show up on my heat vision and didn't panic when you attacked them, even trying to attack you after you cut of one of their arms and they squirted white blood every where. It's those squee moments that made the original Rebellion games a cut above a simple shooter based on the AvP franchise.

Well things could be worse, note figure dropping from the left, yes they are worse
The bad news? Well we won't see this game until Q1 2010 and because Sega is releasing both this game and Gearbox Studios Aliens: Colonial Marines, we won't see that game until after this one debuts.
There better be an Aliens and/or Predator Bluray release before then to tide me over, thats all I'm going to say. Plus this gives us time to complete our plan to have Paul Anderson done away with. Yes, time is on our side now.

Jason Statham doesn't look like he's going to survive this one

The Predator, now with realistic dreadlock flipping action! |
