Star Wars: Force Unleashed DLC is… Awesome?

It’s strange but the recently announced DLC for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed sounds so good I almost want to buy it and play it over again just to be prepped to get this DLC.

For Star Wars fans, people who actually went to the movies to see the originals, this just sounds too cool to resist.

Previously there was the Jedi Temple mission pack which was cut content that was later released and charged for, which naturally leaves a bad taste in many mouth.

But the new mission pack is entirely new content and a new mission set on Tatooine and features you battling your way through Jabba the Hutt’s henchmen, including Boba Fett and the Rancor Beast, to try and track down Obi Wan Kenobi.

But before you get excited be aware that The Force Unleashed game is going to be re-released as an Ultimate Sith Edition that includes the Jedi Temple pack, the Tatooine pack and yet another new mission set on fan favourite Star Wars planet Hoth and has you kitted out in a distinctly Vader-esque outfit to lock light sabres with Luke Skywalker. So you may want to wait on that one.

While the Tatooine pack will be available as DLC the Hoth pack will, mysteriously not be, it’s exclusive to the Ultimate Sith Edition version of the game. A game I should point out, that was released over a year ago. I sense the hand of the Dark Side behind this marketing decision; I see a salty beard, two lazy eyes, a checked shirt and a poor ability to plot.

Call me a glutton for punishment but I may well get this Ultimate Sith Edition when it releases sometime in the next few months. No matter how many times I get burned I just keep picking up the Star Wars potato.

But fans who bought the original game may hear Admiral Ackbar’s eponymous words in their ears at this news, yeah, you know what I’m talking about.
