Assassin's Creed 2 Gameplay is Dungeonrific

Oh I'm sorry, it is your sword, here, you can have it back

A game we've been a bit light on covering recently is Assassin's Creed 2. An issue I'm fixing to rectify right now. I've just watched the gameplay video (embedded after the jump) that was shown at the recent swine flu breeding ground that PAX this year became and I am mightily impressed.

First of all, dungeons! Assassin's Creed 2 has dungeon location littered around the city in hidden locations that require you as assassin in training Ezio to sneak into, eliminate any guards and uncover a hidden artifact. It's like hidden package side missions. Very, very cool. But wait, there's more.

Ezio has a range of new abilities visible in the video below, double wrist knife kills, drugging targets body guards so they go crazy and kill the target for you, tossing coins on the ground to distract peasents and hiring local thugs to do some dirty work for you. There also seem to be a lot more assassinations to be had than the meagre number of targets from the original game.

One thing that did strike me was just how much like the last game Assasssin's Creed 2 looks, the basic movements and free running look just about identical and, in a slightly depressing revelation, the city of Florence is looking quite creamy and light brown, in fact it's a pretty similar colour pallette to most of the original game as well. Hmmm, well lets hope there's more variety to be had in the environments because from the video things are looking a bit too similar.

Here, judge for yourself and check out the cool pics below it.

When thrilling assassinations became too stressful Ezio would relax with stage coach robbing
