Natal1

So did Peter Molyneaux's creepy little boy simulator for Project Natal creep you out at E3 as much as it did us? Well don't worry, don't even slighly worry. Yesterday the question might have been 'Who's developing for Natal', today the question seems to be 'who the hell isn't developing for Project Natal'. The information floodgates from the Tokyo Game Show have opened and MS had some big news on who they were collaborating with.

So here's the text Microsoft sent us:

Among the elite publishers actively working on games for “Project Natal” are Activision Blizzard, Bethesda Softworks, CAPCOM, Disney Interactive, Electronic Arts, Konami, MTV Games, Namco Bandai, Sega, Square Enix, THQ Inc. and Ubisoft. Together, these publishers account for more than 70 percent of third-party software sales for this generation of console and most of the world’s most recognised video game franchises.

“‘Project Natal’ gives the industry’s creators and storytellers the freedom to dream of new experiences and to tell stories never before possible,” said Don Mattrick, senior vice president for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft Corp. “The support of these creative partners testifies to the excitement that ‘Project Natal’ is generating among the most innovative minds in the industry, and is proof that Xbox 360 not only offers great games and entertainment today, but will lead with innovation and new ways to have fun in the future.”

Further details of publishers’ new “Project Natal”-inspired projects will be released at a later date.

Whoa, now thats a lot of support, while the community might have reservations about Natal and its capablities the game developers, who got development kits back in June, clearly do not. The press release goes on to highlight fawning compliments from the likes of Keiji Inafune from Capcom and Yves Guillemot from Ubisoft. EA man Peter Moore has a few choice words as well, but honestly? We know he still has an Xbox mural tattooed across both butt cheeks.

In a panel at TGS Hideo Kojima gushed over Natal as well, describing his first experience with the technology as 'a shock, like the first time he saw a game in 3D'.

It might be time to start getting excited over Natal again.
