Well, that settles that!

While I'm yet to sink my teeth deep in MGS4, a copy borrowed from a mate about ten months ago sitting in my cupboard, reminding me it needs played, I'm kinda excited about the upcoming Peace Walker and Rising games as they look like a bit of a departure from the norm for MGS. New isn't always better, but at least its interesting.

One thing I have always loved about MGS is the fantastic art style in its character designs and the pencil drawings that litter promo material and manuals.

The images are by comic book artist Ashley Wood who adapted the familiar MGS art style into a comic book series that turned out a damn site better than anyone expected. Wood's reward for this service seems to be an extended relationship with Konami.

Where Snakes bandanna goes, situational wind follows

The drawings here are actually sketches for the cut scenes for Peace Walker, or I should say, the sketches are the cut scenes. Sound lame? Well you bight be surprised to learn that these still images are actually interactive cutscenes. According to demo impressions from TGS you can affect the outcome of cutscenes and even pan and zoom around images to see more details. Flashy.

While Kojima had stated at E3 that Peace Walker was an important part of the series and could be considered a sequel to MGS4, unlike the more spin off orientated Portable Ops and Acid games, TGS previews seem to prove that Peace Walker is an essential purchase for MGS fans and PSP owners alike. Might be time for me to dig out MGS4 and get stuck right in.

I have no idea what is happening here, but it looks cool

Here's the mandatory, creepily too young for Snake female character that the MGS PSP games seem to feature

Interactive hand drawn cut scenes is a pretty cool concept

There's the choice of a few different 'Snakes' including Battle and Sneak, interesting to see how they'll make this canon

Expect the familiar sneaking and shooting gameplay to remain intact

Lan play is available but it's not yet been confirmed if WiFi will be in Peace Walker
