In news that should excite and delight me and maybe three other people Shin Sangokumusou Multi Raid Special, also known as Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce Special, is an HD revamp of the recent PSP game set to release on PS3 and Xbox 360 in the near future. The game was announced and demoed at TGS.

It looks like they're using the same graphics engine from Dynasty Warriors 6 which would address most of the problems I had with Strikeforce in my review, namely the crap visuals and pop in, not to mention loading different sections of the map as you enter them. With its focus on multiplayer coop for four people Strikeforce will be the game it should have been with the online support of the consoles. Strikeforce had a lot going for it in the innovation stakes, mixing up the staple series gameplay and making it a party focused hack and slasher. No guarantee yet that this will get an english language port. But my fingers are crossed.
