Right now you can download the Brutal Legend demo on the PSN and Xbox Live and play the first ten minutes of the adventure of Eddie Riggs, the worlds greatest roadie who is killed, or so it seems, in a stage collapse and awakens in a metal inspired fantasy world. The game is the brain and love child of veteran developer Tim Schafer.
I downloaded the demo two nights ago and have so far played it no less than 14 times, giggling like a school girl at each playthrough. This game fires neurons in my brain I didn't know I had.
I love this game. After a mere ten minutes. In fact it's affected me so profoundly I have decided to change my vocabulary solely for this game.
I use the word awesome a lot, in my opinion its a bit of a lazy word that rarely equates to what its used to describe. I throw it around a lot and even to my ears its become a bit derivative. I use it too much for to many games and films and things that generally impress me.
But this is the first game that, in my mind, lives up to each of those seven letters. It's the only game that really equals this tag and as a result I have vowed, from this day forward, that I will never use the A word again to describe any other game, both on this blog and in conversation. I can't imagine another game ever being as deserving of the tag.
So believe me, believe me as you have never done before when I say, in no uncertain terms...
that Brutal Legend is F$^%en AWESOME!
