Xbox have taken to a percentage of the Xbox Community™ with the same intestinal fortitude as similarly displayed in that epic piece of cinematic brilliance, "Rambo (2008)" - (Ok, I'll give up on the Rambo AWESOMENESS movie references) - where the Burmese Army took to the limbs of the villagers with the surgical precision of say, a handful of rocks being lobbed over a fence. The difference between the Burmese Army and Microsoft is that there's no emotive music attempting to stir the cockles of your heart and Microsoft have every right too, unlike the horrendous atrocities of the 'BA'. It seems though, the rock lobbing over the fence reference is fairly accurate.
If at some stage you thought it was a good idea to get your Xbox 'modded' from one of those ads in the 'Trading Post' (RIP) for 50 bucks so your cousin, or your uncle, or your dad, or your mate's dad, or whoever, who made regular trips to Bali and picked you up knockoffs and then you went online with it the chances are you have already been banned from XBL, or are about to. I have no idea on the technical details but I assume that it has to do with the type of conversations your console has with XBL and apparently a few people who played the games a week prior or more to release dates have been cut loose too.
If you have been unjustly banned then you can plead your case to Microsoft via the call center. Good luck, apparently that's a real pain in the jaxie. Of course there's always the Consumer Ombudsman too, if you have to go that far. I don't believe the accounts and your 'Gamer Tag' has gone in the metaphorical bin with your console. They should still exist after you do your penance.
What to do?. Buy a new console, or get it fixed. The same people that modded your console might be able change the chip back from another console. Win win for those fellas, but you could always enquire.
Either way it's good thing and it's great to see them proactive about it. Especially when YOU do the right thing and continually pay full price for EVERYTHING but these others don't, because of their lack of conscience. |
