We Support an R18+ game Classification

After spending a solid couple of hours with this game on the weekend I can safely say there are many reasons for picking up a copy of The Saboteur for Christmas. The fact you play an Irish race car driver hiding out in Paris after getting his best mate killed by the Nazi's, navigating Paris can be done by GTA style car jacking or Assassin's Creed style building climbing, it's an open world game where the Nazi's are the police so you don't have to feel even the tiniest pang of guilt over killing them, there is tons, and I mean tons, of swearing. All compelling reasons to buy a game that's pretty damn fun.

If that's not enough of a selling point for you then how about boobies, if you buy a new copy of The Saboteur you get the downloadable code on both the Xbox and PS3 called Midnight Show which undrapes the dancers in your cabaret club hideout.

Of course that's not all it does, it also opens new hiding places from the Nazi's and new weapons and a new car to be unlocked by playing a mini game. The downloadable content makes the game a little easier, giving you more opportunities to hide from your Nazi opponents which is something you'll be needing to do a lot, being a wanted saboteur and all.

The catch is if you buy a second hand copy of the game instead of a new one then the content will need to be purchased for 400 MS points or the equivalent cash cost at the PSN Store. I'm not sure if this is Pandemic or EA attempting to reward early adopters or punish pirates and hit the used market in the wallet, but either way I like it, it's a lot better than DRM and other ham fisted attempts to deter pirating.

I'm not too far into the Saboteur, after two hours I've only played the first mission and then the prologue, but so far its been terrific fun sneaking up on Nazi's for a neck breaking and blowing shit up. Based on this short preview I'd recommend its at least worth a rental for anyone who has enjoyed GTA, Assassin's Creed or Mercenaries.
