Not long ago I said I wouldn't be spending extra cash on any Secial/Collectors Editions of games. I'd been a bit slapper for the things in the past, grabbing many a lurid over priced package with an art book and a CD soundtrack (I have the soundtrack for Viking: Battle for Asgard and I'm not proud of that). So I said no more, they're silly, flashy grabs for your extra money by marketing departments and overpriced games stores.
Unfortunately the God of War 3 people have other plans, because one look at the picture above and I'm all ready scribbling out a blank check to post to Sony. Be still my foolish heart.
First off, don't bother buying the re-released versions of God of War 1 and 2 with the improved HD graphics, you get them in this pack. You also get:

- Art book
- Postcards
- God of War 1, 2 and 3 game soundtracks
- Blood and Metal: Music inspired by God of War (??)
- Unearthing the Legend, a feature length documentary downloadable over the PSN about the making of the franchise
- Downloadable skins for Kratos including Dominus, Apollo, Phantom of Chaos and Forgotten Warrior
- Downloadable Combat Arena with seven challenges to test your button mashing skill
- A copy of the PS3 game God of War 3, in case you were wondering
- That freaky ass recreation of Pandora's Box.
No price is known yet but expect it to be pushing $200. But at that price it still seems like a pretty fair deal. No, bad Aaron, bad, don't talk it up to yourself.
Here's the bad news, apparently this version of the game will only be available from your local EB Games.
God of War 3 is set for a March 2010 release.
Here's an enlarged version of the above image by way of Kotaku.
