With the resent rumours that Dead Space Extraction might come to the PSN and XBLA as a downloadable game thanks to poor sales on the Wii if a survey that Kotaku got its dirty hands on is to be believed. This made me think, why is EA so focused on making Dead Space a major franchise?
Also on the survey is a game entitled Planet Cracker and is described as a “resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation” while “defending their hard-won ore from Space Pirates."
Dead Space was a great game, not exactly my cup of tea I could still see the game was quality. Unfortunately the game’s initial sales were low and still to this day are much lower than I’m sure EA wants. The same fate, though much worse, fell upon the Wii exclusive prequel Dead Space Extraction. So with two misses under its belt and a third game, Dead Space 2, and a spin off rumoured why is EA so focused on this series? I hope that Dead Space 2 is a bigger hit, but does it have the selling power that EA needs.
