So you've dropped a few cruise missiles on someone in Modern Warfare 2? Big freaking deal, I laugh at your cruise missiles and the Freudian implications of your pride at using them. You want epic explosions? You want blistering flames towering into the sky like the pillars of the apocalypse? You want your war porn with extra fallout? Then you need to get your hands on Mercenaries 2 and you can do so right now for, on average, about $16 if you shop around.

I was a big fan of the original Mercenaries. It was one of my first Xbox titles and in a post GTA 3 game world it was the Rambo to GTA 3's Goodfellas. You got to cruise around Korea and steal helicopters, tanks, jeeps, APC's, the works. Then sell them all to the Russian Mafia and use the money to buy weapons of mass destruction, then turn those weapons on your enemy. Mercenaries 2 is just bigger and better than the original, more factions, more missions, more vehicles and heck, even more weapons of mass destruction. There's a few very cool unique vehicles including my personal favourite, the motorbike tank hybrid. The sequel also includes a few extras to improve the value of the package including online coop play. If your a big fan of blowing shit up, and besides possibly my mum who isn't, then you need to roll out and get yourself Mercenaries 2 soonish.

Sure the game has some shortcomings but for $16 for a new copy of eBay you can afford not to care about them. The games crazy popcorn fun enjoyed in small stints and a few exploitable glitches in the money system (hint: The helicopter challenge is ridiculously easy once your familiar with it and you can bet millions of dollars on it) your never far away from a Fuel Air Bomb, a bunker buster, a carpet bomb air strike or hell a low yield tactical nuke strike. Most of the fun to be had in Mercenaries 2 comes from experimentation and pulling of the most insane stunts you possibly can.

Basically it's the perfect Spare Change? game. Go get it.
