Last years Red Faction: Guerrilla was surprisingly good, very good even with wide open areas, destructible buildings and the type of game physics demolition fetishists dreams are made off. The trailer below for the upcoming sequel shows a very different game. One I'm not entirely happy to hear about.

It's fifty years after the (rather communist sounding) workers uprising in Red Faction: Guerrilla (Red faction huh? where's John Wayne when you need him?) and the people of Mars, led by Darius Mason, grandson of the peoples hero Alec Mason, live underground. That's right, wide open spaces seem to have been switched for corridors and caverns. And everyone's okay with this? To spice things up the aliens from Dead Space are making a cameo as well.

There's some cool stuff in the trailer, Darius has a device for rebuilding structures as well as plenty of new devices for tearing them down. Take a look at the trailer and judge for yourself. My current emotion is 'Conorried' which is an amalgamation of concerned and worried.

Think of a list of things you'd like to see in a Red Faction sequel. Now are bad boy tribal tattoos, the aliens from Dead Space or an underground setting anywhere on that list?
