Okay, I know I've been over doing it, but this is totally, definitely, absolutely the last Halo piece of news I will post, for... at least a week. A working week. But I thought this was pretty news worthy. Greg Bear has a written a Halo book, set in the world of Forerunners, some millionish years before the events in the Halo games. Greg Bear, in case you don't know, is a bit of a science fiction power house. He's won a Hugo and a Nebula, the two big daddy's of genre fiction awards, and writes the kind of hard sci fi that has you running to wikipedia to search elaborate physics theories and concepts. In other words he writes science fiction with real science in it and makes it hugely interesting to boot.

The fact he's putting his well trained quill to the Halo Universe gives me delightful goosebumps. The book comes out January 2011 and it's the first of a trilogy. Squeee.
