It's pretty rare for anyone who likes games to not enjoy the last Elder Scrolls game Oblivion. It was one of those titles that spilled over into your private life. After thousands of hours you started hearing the background music in your sleep, responses to people in everyday conversations appeared in yellow text below their faces. The game ate my brain, as it did many others, and epic expansions like Knights of the Nine made things a lot worse.

And now we're staring down the barrel of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in 2011. Todd Howard, the lead behind Oblivion and the equally amazing Fallout 3, announced the game recently and confirmed that it would be running on a whole new graphics engine. The teaser is below and here's the text spoken during the trailer as it's a little hard to hear clearly.

You should have acted.
They're already here.
The Elder Scrolls told of their return.
Their defeat was merely delay
Til the time after Oblivion opened,
When the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood.
But no-one wanted to believe.
Believe they even existed.
And when the truth finally dawns:
It dawns in fire.
But,
There's one they fear.
In their tongue, he's Dovahkiin:
Dragon Born!

Let me be the first to press my knees together and squeal: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
