I've lost my head over OFLC decisions in the past, ranted and raved, pointed out the inconsistencies in their decisions, prayed for greater public transparency on their decision process. The more I've learned about the OFLC the less I've been impressed by the fact tiny semantic differences, such as the difference between distinguishing a humanoid shaped polygon as a 'zombie' or as an 'infected' is enough to get a game banned or incomprehensibly mutilated to fit a standard that pacifies a tiny demographic of the voting public.

I could note that the classification of games was implemented in the first place due to a small but vocal conservative group complaining about the original Mortal Kombat and how the same group and similar niche conservative and religous organisations continue to be dissatisfied with the laws they're whining have brought into place. I could also point out that despite the banning of Mortal Kombat Warner Bros is going ahead with press events in Australia to promote the game, likely as they know what the majority of the gaming population knows, obtaining a copy of Mortal Kombat through perfectly legal importing is very easy.

No, I'm not going to say any of these things, I'm just going to point you towards this link right here, and say I hope you enjoy playing Mortal Kombat in Australian home as much as I plan to.
