Here's a new trailer for Kingdom of Amalur entitled Visions. It looks pretty swish, us cloak wearing fantasy RPG nerds are getting pretty spoilt this year no question. There's a few reasons to get psyched for Amalur. Firstly R A Salvatore, better known as the author of all those best sellin Forgotten Realms books and dozens of other fantasy novels is involved. Also getting hands on is creator of Image comics hit character Spawn one Todd Macfarlane, while he's been a controversial character in comicbookdom his involvement guarantees a unique and interesting visual feel. But most exciting is the inclusion of Ken Rolston, a lead designer on Oblivion. That's a pedigree you want to have on a fantasy set RPG.

The game itself is looking like a wilder version of fable with plenty of big monsters needing skewering. The jury's still out on the final game, we know from past experience that big name input from people outside the game industry is no guarantee of any sort of unique addition to the game itself, but everything so far is looking promising.
