10 Games Overdue for a Remake

Videogames have been around long enough for people to start safely using annoying terms like ‘golden age’ and ‘rich history’ and actually look back in a positive light on the days when a 10 minute load with a cassette tape was the norm. Personally I think this attitude is rubbish. Much like cars the current best of the best is more often the most recent to be released. However, there are plenty of games that could certainly stand to be rescued from the memories of sad people like me and given a current generation remake.

Remakes seem to be a popular choice for developers hoping for some name recognition to move a few extra units. Golden Axe was released only a few months ago, sadly deciding to deviate almost completely from the spirit of the original, and Bionic Commando is shaping up to be a hit in 2009. After some careful consideration I have put together a list of ten games which would be easy to remake into a best selling multi console release and reap billions of dollars.

All I ask is that these beloved titles of my junior gaming days be treated with respect in their adaptation to modern technology. Plus 5% of the sales.
