Skate 2 got some new DLC the other day remember? The one I told you about, this article here. Wait!! Don’t leave I'm going to tell you all about it and if it is worth your money. The DLC is entitled the “Maloof Money Cup”, funny name that. It is simply a new skate park and half pipe modelled on the real life Maloof Money Cup’s skate park with two new single player competitions and some more free skate online challenges, as if the 110 that come on the disk isn’t enough. Trust me there was a lot of online content already.

Well since your probably still wondering what’s with the goofy name; the Maloof Money Cup is a real life skateboarding competition that is currently underway in America. Its claim to fame is that is offers the largest amount of prize money of any skateboarding competition, namely $450,000 in total price money. This brings in the big name skaters and somewhat strangely EA. This may be just the start of things to come, if EA started releasing DLC for most of the big name competitions such as the X-Games, Gravity Games and the Dew Tour it could end up being really good. I just hope that more DLC can be released for this game in the coming future that doesn’t include anything like the god awful “Filmer pack”

This DLC is mainly for the people, such as myself, that have been playing the game since release and have needed some new content to play around with. With that in mind EA should have made the contests harder, that might sound strange to people that struggled with the single player as it is but if you had ventured online to the ranked matches your skill as a player rises quickly if you want to start winning. Think about playing the COD 4 campaign on normal again after prestiging the online, it would feel too easy. The two single player competitions, both vert and street, as good as they are just provide no challenge for a veteran player to want to do them again. The 360 owners can earn some extra achievement points while the PS3 owners are left out in the cold with no extra trophies.

The half pipe is the star of the show, or should that be DLC. With a large roll-in ramp that launches you onto a grind rail and is just completely cool. I would go as far as to say this is my favourite half pipe in the game. The street section of the game is nothing special when compared to the main game or even some of the other DLC. All in all everyone who loves this game has probably already paid the $3.45/240MP for this lot of DLC, for those that want to go back to it with some new content the previously released DLC which is more expensive but the content is better.
