South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!

You can't help thinking with your initial impression with the 'retro' looking gameplay and graphics that this game is merely a cash in on the franchise to add to the pile of South Park games.

South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! is a scrolling 2D game where you take control of Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny either by yourself or with four of your mates and try to hold back the hordes of recognizable characters from South Park such as hippies, underpants gnomes, ginger kids, Jakovasaurs, and old people, with an ever expanding list. So ever expanding that you get to a point where you're begging for a machine gun nest housing a battery of four M60's with some grenade launchers for you and your 3 friends instead of the damn snowballs.

The idea is unlock and build defenses in a co-ordinated effort to hold up the invasion with bigger and better towers of weaponry co-operation by collecting coins. It isn't an easy game, and gets even less easy as you progress. I personally found myself weighing up the pro's and con's of investing my controller button that gets bashed to oblivion and dealing with the missus giving me curry over yelling at the screen over co-ordinating strategy between my head, my controller, and the characters on the screen. Playing this on your own leaves NO room for error and you end up having a REAL earned sense of achievment at beating the levels. It does have a stress and frustration factor of 5 out of 5, so be warned.

The game has a REAL sense of South Park. The voice overs eventually get on your wick after being amusing at first, and the never ending repetitive gameplay won't be for everyone other than die hard South Park fans and those looking for a cheap button masher. Really, I'd suggest investing your money in something else if you're weighing up the pro's and con's of just a blind buy as there are deeper and better constructed efforts on XBL. But if you like the the throw away type no brainers then this isn't for you either as you are forced to nut out some serious brain power on a seemingly half arsed effort at a game.

You'll either like it, or you'll hate it, but really, for 800 MS Points it's a game to consider you like the type of game, otherwise, keep looking.
